NEWS FOR WEEK 1

You can park anywhere on the site (except for spots reserved for people with disabilities). The parking management at Marie Victorin is going through negotiations with the City of Montreal.

Presently, everywhere is ok to park!

Equipment for futsal:

- running shoes

- shin pads (recommended, but not obligatory)

- socks (recommended, but not obligatory)

Equipment for ball hockey:

- hockey stick

- shin pads

- gloves

- helmet (face mask/cage/shield is recommended, but not obligatory)

--- No jewelry can be worn during games for both hockey and futsal---

Every team will have 1 or 2 double headers this season.

This notice is simply an FYI to inform all teams of this reality well in advance.

Changing rooms aren't huge but we're appreciative and thankful of what we're given! Our league has a humble atmosphere. Please respect the space that is provided to us. 

Other leagues around Montreal might have state of the art facilities and with over 50 teams registered. ... But none of them charge 900$ per team!

Upward Sports policy with regards to suspensions:

~~ All infractions are different. Discretion of the ref and the league may weaken or strengthen disciplinary measures, depending on the infraction at hand. The following is the general procedure ~~

1st offence: Penalty or match penalty (depending on infraction) 

AND a warning that the next infraction will lead to a suspension

2nd offence: Suspension of x amount of games

AND a warning that the next infraction will lead to expulsion from the league

3rd offence: Expulsion from the league

Proper behavior leads to a proper season and a proper league.

Help us in making sure we have a quality league for everyone involved.

The top 4 teams qualify for the playoffs! It's a competitive league! Good luck!

Teams that fall below 4th place, will play within the relegation round.

Tie-breaking procedure:

1 - The greater number of points earned in games between the tied teams. If more than two teams are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those teams.

2 - The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season.

NOTE: In standings a shootout win counts as 1 goal for, while a shootout loss counts as 1 goal against.

A player can only qualify for playoffs if he/she has played a minimum of 4 games during the regular season (exhibition games DO NOT count).

The "Mercy Rule" is applied when one team scores 8 goals more than then other team.

A mercy rule cannot occur within the first period.

Team names are due Wednesday, March 1. Please text Joe Macchiagodena your official team name :)

The schedule and stats/teams will be updated as soon as possible! Please understand that this is our first season and it is our first few weeks. We're dealing with a constant influx of new teams. Due to these reasons, we ask that you are patient and understanding for this first week :)
